Robots for your pool

A robot fits when the maker rates it for your pool type, your pool's area and length, what you need cleaned and your budget. The bar shows how much of its rated size your pool uses; above 85% we call it a tight fit. Cheapest fits first. How we match.

How we match a robot to your pool

Makers rate pool robots in one of two ways: by the largest pool floor area (square feet or m²) or by the longest pool (feet). Aiper and Beatbot mostly publish area; Dolphin and Polaris publish length. We compare your pool against whichever numbers the maker gives, and against both when it gives both.

Fit = right pool type, area ≤ rated area, length ≤ rated length, cleans what you need, price within budget.

    Working out your pool's area

Rectangle: length × width. Freeform and kidney pools: we take 85% of the rectangle around them, a rough allowance for the curves. Round pools: we treat the length as the diameter and use π × radius². For the most accurate result, use your pool's documented surface area if you have it.

    Tight fits

Ratings assume normal conditions. Deep ends, steps, ledges and heavy debris all take extra time. When your pool uses more than 85% of a rating, we mark it a tight fit.

    Walls, waterline and surface

We count a robot as cleaning walls, the waterline or the surface only when its maker says so on the product page or spec sheet. Read floor, walls, waterline and surface explained.

    Leaves

When you choose "lots of leaves", we tag robots with a basket of 5 L or more, or a surface-skimming mode, which catches leaves before they sink. It doesn't remove robots from the list.

    Robots without a published size

Aiper doesn't give a size limit for the Scuba V3. We still list it when it matches everything else, with a tag so you can check before buying.

Discontinued models are left out of the finder. Every figure links to its source on the model's page; prices were checked 5 November 2026 and change often.
